Mrs. Ferrell-Burns has a Masters in Education, has taught numerous grade levels, and been a STARBASE, TAG, Basic Skills, and Math Specialist. After many years of classroom teaching she returned to PSU, earned her Library Media Endorsement, and began teaching in the greatest classroom of all, The Library. Her passion is teaching students the love of literature and Library Media skills. When she is not teaching, you can find her embarking on adventures near and far with her son Patrick, daughter Molly, and husband Bill or curled up in front of the fireplace with one of her two cats, Pilot, Mini, or her dog Obi, reading her favorite genre, historical fiction.
Ms. Diane was an Art Major, has been a SMART program volunteer, Project Literacy volunteer, and an Educational Assistant. Her first love is children and second is reading; a perfect fit for our Library! When Ms. Diane is not working with students she is spending time with her son Mac, daughter Maddie, or husband Bruce. She loves to garden, be outdoors, bike, travel and create.
Both Mrs. Ferrell-Burns, and Ms. Diane have worked extensively in Portland Public School Libraries.
